Story
In Kerala, cooking is a family tradition. Everyday recipes have long been passed down from mothers to daughters and carry the gentle flavor of coconut, enhanced with spices and masala. Since early childhood, Beena has shared this passion alongside her mother, Padmavathi, and the women in her family.
Together, they have selected more than sixty recipes to create their family cookbook from Kerala, bringing together classics of Indian cuisine such as masalas and curries, as well as their own Indian interpretations of dishes discovered in other regions, like naans and tandoori chicken.
It is a diverse cuisine based on vegetables, rice, and dishes with meat and fish, where indulgence also finds its place at tea time with a few sweet treats and refreshing drinks.
This book is an invitation to travel—both culinary and cultural—through photographs that immerse us in the heart of an Indian family’s daily life, with its culture, traditions, and cuisine.
